Warped Cigars

Warped Cigars is an independent premium-cigar company founded by Kyle Gellis. Its identity combines traditional Cuban-inspired formats, modern brand design and blend development across specialist factories in Miami, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

The company owns and develops brands rather than operating one universal factory. El Titan de Bronze makes its best-known Miami lines, Aganorsa Leaf produces much of the Nicaraguan portfolio, and Tabacalera La Isla has produced selected Dominican projects.

Kyle Gellis and an Early Start in Cigars

Kyle Gellis entered the premium-cigar business while still a student and began developing small projects in his late teens. His early work connected him with El Titan de Bronze in Miami, where compact production and traditional rolling methods shaped his preference for classic proportions.

Trade sources variously cite 2007, 2008 or 2009 because they measure the start of Gellis's cigar work, the first Warped-branded sales or the formal company phase. A reliable profile explains the sequence instead of presenting the dates as interchangeable.

The First Brands, Pause and Relaunch

Early Warped projects included Annubis, Osiris and Private Blend. They were sold in limited quantities before Gellis paused cigar production to complete college, leaving an early chapter that differs from the portfolio recognized today.

Warped returned in 2012 with a renewed business direction and shifted back toward cigar blending. The modern portfolio accelerated in 2014 with El Oso, La Colmena and Don Reynaldo, three Miami-made families that established the company's current identity.

El Titan de Bronze and Miami Production

El Titan de Bronze is a small independent factory in Little Havana, Miami, known for handmade production and traditional methods. Warped's relationship with the factory predates the modern relaunch and remains essential to La Colmena, Don Reynaldo, El Oso and selected limited work.

Miami production is intentionally constrained. Individual lines or anniversary editions may be assigned to dedicated rollers and limited daily output, so availability and production quantity should be documented by named release rather than generalized across the brand.

Aganorsa Leaf and the Nicaraguan Portfolio

Warped developed a second major production center through TABSA in Estelí, now presented under the Aganorsa Leaf name. The relationship gives Gellis access to Nicaraguan Corojo '99 and Criollo '98 tobacco from Aganorsa's farms.

Flor del Valle, La Hacienda, Maestro del Tiempo, Corto, Cloud Hopper, Futuro and The Devil's Hands are among the lines associated with this Nicaraguan system. Factory naming should preserve TABSA as a historical alias while using Aganorsa Leaf for current clarity.

Dominican Production and Portfolio Expansion

Warped entered Dominican production in 2021 with Chinchalle at Tabacalera La Isla in Santiago. Companion de Warped followed from the same factory, using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Dominican and Nicaraguan internal tobacco.

These releases expanded Warped beyond its Miami-and-Nicaragua pattern without replacing the earlier relationships. Country of origin, factory and blend must therefore be assigned at the line and release level.

Ownership, Leadership and Commercial Model

Warped remains a founder-led company owned by Kyle Gellis, who serves as its primary blender and creative voice. The company has described a dedicated in-house sales team and a network of authorized retailers rather than distribution under a large multinational cigar group.

Gellis Family Cigars debuted in 2024 as a related subsidiary for brands outside the Warped name. It should be connected to Kyle Gellis but maintained as a separate publishing entity so ownership, brand family and product relationships remain clear.

La Colmena and Don Reynaldo

La Colmena and Don Reynaldo are signature Miami-made families from El Titan de Bronze. La Colmena emphasizes a refined Connecticut-seed wrapper direction, while Don Reynaldo was created as a tribute to Gellis's father, Ronald.

Flor del Valle and La Hacienda

Flor del Valle and La Hacienda helped define Warped's Nicaraguan portfolio through Aganorsa tobacco and classic sizes. Their related farm-and-factory context should not lead publishers to combine their individual blends or release histories.

Serie Gran Reserva 1988 and Corto

Serie Gran Reserva 1988 references Gellis's birth year and occupies a premium, tightly focused role. Corto uses compact formats and a fuller Nicaraguan direction; Corto Maduro is a distinct expression requiring its own wrapper and availability record.

Maestro del Tiempo, Cloud Hopper and Futuro

Maestro del Tiempo reflects a long development period, Cloud Hopper draws on Gellis's travel theme, and Futuro was developed with Max Fernández. Each showcases different applications of Aganorsa-grown Nicaraguan tobacco.

El Oso, Companion and Limited Projects

El Oso is a Miami-made family with playful bear-themed sizes. Companion and Chinchalle represent Dominican production, while Sky Flower, DROP projects, anniversary cigars and other special releases require edition-level verification.
