No. 49 is the longest published Añejo at seven and five eighths inches with a 49 ring gauge. It is five eighths of an inch longer and slightly wider than No. 48. No. 888 is shorter and narrower at 44 ring. The Añejo family’s documented distinction is Maduro wrapper aged in Cognac barrels. Fuente’s account makes this preparation central to the collection, supplying a tobacco-processing identity that extends across its numbered formats. No. 49 places that family background in an extended proportion. It is longer than No. 55 but narrower, while the shorter No. 77 Shark has its own round-to-square construction and two-part ring-gauge notation. These differences make length, diameter and shape separate features within the range.
