From Edición Limitada to Reserva Especial
The original 2013 release was a 6 x 54 Nicaraguan puro limited to 4,500 numbered ten-count boxes. Joya de Nicaragua later adapted the concept into the continuing Reserva Especial. Secret Cask and regional editions should be linked as distinct releases because their blends, formats, markets and quantities differ.
The Continuing Reserva Especial Recipe
The current family uses Nicaraguan H. Criollo wrapper, Dominican binder and Nicaraguan filler. Joya de Nicaragua identifies select Grade A fillers aged in vintage white oak barrels and describes a spicy, robust profile. The original limited edition was a Nicaraguan puro, so its component record must not overwrite the continuing recipe. Four Regular Formats and Special Branches Reserva Especial lists Toro at 6 1/4 x 50, Torpedo at 6 x 52, Doble Robusto at 5 x 56 and Petit Corona at 4 1/2 x 46. The 2025 presentation revamp applied across regular formats without changing the blend. Secret Cask and market-specific editions belong in separate time-stamped records.
